“Kizimbani Agricultural Research Station, where most research activities are concentrated, is the central research station for Unguja. There are several other small sub-stations which serve the same function, but at a lower level related particularly to the location or agro-ecological zone in which each is located Matangatuani station. Although Zanzibar Agricultural Research Institute has the overall mandate to promote and carry out research on crops, forestry, livestock, fisheries, and environment within Zanzibar; research is mainly concentrated within the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Kizimbani Agricultural Research Station.”
